Desk Makeover

In all honesty, we were supposed to publish this post when we moved, which was months ago. Oops! It took us a teeny bit longer to create our “at home” dream office, but it’s finally completed-ish. As most of you know, Lindsey & Lilly both moved back in October! With every move, you can always anticipate stress, chipped manicures, and fights with your significant other. That being said, a move also comes with a fresh start, a renewal if you will.

With both of our moves, it was important for us to reinvent our sense of interior home style. Having Lilly’s sister, Lauren, as one of the founders of Luxe Report Designs, it wasn’t hard to find immediate inspiration as we went room by room trying to figure out how we would reinvent ourselves.

Lindsey’s new house came with a decent sized loft, which screamed LLScene headquarters, despite#SceneBoy, Blake trying to make it into an FSU themed man room. As if he stood a chance on that battle…

Believe it or not, Lindsey isn’t the most gifted when it comes to ‘arts and crafts’. Left handed people may be creative, but they’re unable to paint in straight lines or handle power tools for a long period of time. With a good chunk of space, it was important for her to fill up the room without making it look too cluttered. The chaise lounge has been with Lindsey for about 2 years, so that was an automatic addition to the room.

We are really feeling peonies to be the flower of the moment this fall. Whether it’s in a bridal bouquet, or displayed the way Lindsey has them in her office, we are all about it. Unfortunately, we don’t have the time or patience to grow them ourselves, so we couldn’t be more grateful for companies like the Stemple Shop that offer Real Touch Artificial Peonies like the arrangement seen here.

The vanity has to be our favorite part about Lindsey’s new office, which was obviously 100% inspired by Lauren & Christin of Luxe Report Designs. What’s not to love about a vanity that gives you the opportunity to display and swoon over all your favorite things?!

Now, stop what you’re doing and check out the site, Shop Rachel George because that is where our 8″ Quilted Round Vase that holds our peonies comes from. We like to call ourselves ‘gold enthusiasts’ at LLScene, so you can imagine the amount of  time and money we have spent shopping on her site.

Every boss lady needs a boss lady mug. One of our favorite Etsy shops, The Scribble Studio gifted this adorable mug, which has become quite the necessity for Lindsey when she is up blogging late at night.

We’ve been searching for an excuse to implement tassel garlands into our everyday lives for quite some time. Once one of our #SceneGirls recommended using them to spice up some of the office wall space, it was all over from there. These adorable tassels are from another adorable Etsy shop called Tassel & Twine, which immediately transformed the room when they were hung.

This adorable Simplified Pineapple Planner by Emily Ley is our favorite new desk prop. It meshes perfectly with our other accessories and it’s also a really great planner.

Hope you enjoyed this sneak peek into our new office! Stay tuned for more as we expand!

LLScene spotlights their favorite looks inspired by the 2016 Spring Pantone Color Guide! There’s been a transition into the softer, cooler side of the color spectrum this spring as designers reveal understated brights and pale pastels, matching the much anticipated 2016 Pantone Color Guide.

We’ve been seeing celebrities wearing these colors lately, so it felt like the right time to premier them on LLScene! This season promises an array of whimsical collections inspired by gender neutral undertones.

Christian Siriano | LLScene Fashion Week Recap

We’re back (and exhausted). REALLY exhausted. Who knew there was so much partying involved during NYFW? We knew. We always know, but never prepare accordingly. Want to know something else your #SceneGirls never prepare for? The rush of bitter cold air against our skin as we walk out of Laguardia for the first time. Once again, we were there during one of the coldest weekends of the year. Florida girls can’t hang.

On to what really matters, the fashion. All we have to say is “wow”. There wasn’t a show that didn’t blow us away this year. Today, we’re recapping one of our favorite designers and shows of the week, Christian Siriano!

There aren’t enough words in the dictionary for us to describe our thoughts about Christian Siriano’sFall/Winter collection. Since his debut on Project Runway, we have always supported Siriano and his vision for high fashion. Siriano’s fall/winter ‘16 collection uses volume, texture, soft fibers, andmasculine undertones in shape and silhouette.

Menswear-inspired inspired suits and tailored evening pieces balance it out. Staying true to his inspiration behind the line, Siriano continues to remain loyal to his feminine clients, while introducing them to innovative creations of our time as well. Who wouldn’t trust this mastermind? We’re basically obsessed with everything he showed this year. Check out the slideshow below to see our picks for his most #SceneWorthy looks. P.S. We’re beyond obsessed with the second dress and need it now.

Above Photo Credit: Birthday Comp

There’s nothing we love more than fashion, and absolutely love that we’re able to support local boutiques and designers during Delray Fashion Week. There are so many amazing shopping opportunities right in your backyard, which you may not even know about. Thank goodness for theDelray DDA for producing week long events that bring light to the evolving style opportunities inDowntown Delray. These shows took place right on Atlantic Ave, at the Colony Hotel, and the Delray Beach Marriot

So, what designers/boutiques caught LLScene’s eye this year? Here are some of our favorites.

House of Perna

Duh, she is an LLScene favorite every year. Former Project Runway contestant, Amanda Perna showcased her latest spring collection throughout the week. We can’t wait to rock her looks this spring. These flamingos are everything. Perfect brunch-to-bar attire. Stay tuned for more info on herFall/Winter ‘16 collection because LLScene will be attending her show during NYFW next week!

LoveRich Boutique

 Circe Swag

We’ve been shopping at Circe Swag for awhile now, so it was a given that this boutique would make our Delray Fashion Week recap. Pure simplistic elegance graced the runway for Circe Swag. It was one look after another that caught our eye. With a beauty bar and home accessories also being sold inside the boutique, you really can’t go wrong with Circe Swag. They have anything you need to be a successful #SceneGirl.

Valentines Day Fashion

Yep, it’s that time of year again everyone! Since Lindsey & Lilly will be spending Valentine’s Day together, we thought it was only appropriate to head this with a little GALentine’s Day love. Valentine’s Day is a holiday that most refer to as a “Hallmark Holiday” or “Singles Awareness Day”, because skeptics believe it only to exist primarily for commercial purposes, rather than to commemorate and honor the true meaning of love. Why dedicate one day to show your loved ones how you feel? You should express that love every day!

LLScene’s First Baby Shower

Don’t get any ideas, we only hosted our first baby shower. Most of you can agree that when you hit the age of 26 it’s nonstop bridal showers, bachelorette parties, weddings, and now BABIES! To be perfectly honest with you all, we were a little nervous to host our first baby shower. Lilly has been to a handful of baby showers and up until this point and Lindsey had never even been to one. It’s safe to say we’ve got wedding festivities down, but when it came time to plan our friend Megan’s baby shower….we didn’t really know where to start.

Like any saavy #SceneGirl we prioritized a “to do” list, established a theme with the mom-to-be, and got adorable invitations sent out to her guest list before it was time to take a little break. All party planners need a break right? Right! Party planning is all about delegating and asking for help, and luckily we have the best girl friends in the bizz. Each one of our friends brought one homemade signature dish, which ended up being more than enough food for our 25 guests! WHEW!

It also helped that one of our BFF #SceneGirls, Jess, is the owner of TilleyCakes, because not only did she came through with a delicious appetizer, but she also created these adorable chocolate covered pretzels and rice krispies treats. She always comes through for us, we couldn’t be more grateful.

 That cake though….

What can we say about this amazing cake. Shea’s Bakery in Delray Beach really came through in creating this custom made piece of art for us. All we had to do was send her a picture of what we were looking for, and she replicated it exactly. This cake worked as a delicious dessert, and an even better centerpiece.

Where do you even begin when it comes to establishing decor for a navy and gold prince themed shower? As usual, Luxe Report Designs to the rescue. With a little help from their Pinterest and Instagram pages, we became inspired by their ability to implement a sequin table runner to any old table setting, and what a difference it made! Note to self: when it doubt, throw some sequin over it.

Speaking of decor, there’s nothing more important than a customized banner by JKreations. We told her the theme of the shower, the color scheme, and exactly what we wanted written on the banner and she created this beautiful photo prop, which now lives in baby Sebastian’s nursery!

To spark more inspiration, we headed to HomeGoods (of course) in search for clear candy bar jars and more gold decor. The next step was finding candy for the candy jars, which was easily found at Party City.

Sebastian’s newest onsie, baby hat, and bib made for great photo opportunities thanks to our dear friend and sorority sister, Nikki, founder of Namesbynikki. These are handmade quality products that can be customized to your liking. She’s one of our very good friends from Nashville and an obvious #LLSceneApproved vendor for our readers to trust.

Based on how her bridal shower went, we knew Megan’s feelings toward playing games at her baby shower, so we went in with a less is more attitude. It was more important for Megan to interact with her guests as they mixed and mingled with everyone else, so there were no “set games” to play. Thank goodness Megan wasn’t one of those “pregnant girls” who don’t allow champagne or wine to be served at baby shower’s because that made such a difference! Guests were encouraged to fill out these cards throughout the afternoon.

Glad to report back that LLScene’s first experience hosting a baby shower went off without a hitch. If you find yourself at a loss during shower preparations for your loved ones, just remember it’s all about prioritizing and knowing the needs of your mom-to-be.

Coincidentally, Megan and her husband Paul welcomed baby Sebastian into the world last Friday, January 8th! We couldn’t be happier for her and her new family! Here’s to the first #SceneBaby in the books!
