Delray Beach Fashion Week | LLScene RECAP

Above Photo Credit: Birthday Comp

There’s nothing we love more than fashion, and absolutely love that we’re able to support local boutiques and designers during Delray Fashion Week. There are so many amazing shopping opportunities right in your backyard, which you may not even know about. Thank goodness for theDelray DDA for producing week long events that bring light to the evolving style opportunities inDowntown Delray. These shows took place right on Atlantic Ave, at the Colony Hotel, and the Delray Beach Marriot

So, what designers/boutiques caught LLScene’s eye this year? Here are some of our favorites.

House of Perna

Duh, she is an LLScene favorite every year. Former Project Runway contestant, Amanda Perna showcased her latest spring collection throughout the week. We can’t wait to rock her looks this spring. These flamingos are everything. Perfect brunch-to-bar attire. Stay tuned for more info on herFall/Winter ‘16 collection because LLScene will be attending her show during NYFW next week!

LoveRich Boutique

Another LLScene staple. Stroll into LoveRich right off the Ave and you will never want to leave. Owner,Jelena Loveric has the ability to foresee fashion trends before they’re even relevant. If you’re looking to make a statement before anyone else, we highly recommend taking a trip to LoveRich Boutique. You’re welcome.

Boho beauties are always gracing the runway for Roxy Lulu during DBFW. Designer & owner, Jules never disappoints her #SceneGirls with her gypsy inspired collections. Perfect looks for spring afternoons on the Ave.

 Circe Swag

We’ve been shopping at Circe Swag for awhile now, so it was a given that this boutique would make our Delray Fashion Week recap. Pure simplistic elegance graced the runway for Circe Swag. It was one look after another that caught our eye. With a beauty bar and home accessories also being sold inside the boutique, you really can’t go wrong with Circe Swag. They have anything you need to be a successful #SceneGirl.

LLScene’s First Baby Shower

Don’t get any ideas, we only hosted our first baby shower. Most of you can agree that when you hit the age of 26 it’s nonstop bridal showers, bachelorette parties, weddings, and now BABIES! To be perfectly honest with you all, we were a little nervous to host our first baby shower. Lilly has been to a handful of baby showers and up until this point and Lindsey had never even been to one. It’s safe to say we’ve got wedding festivities down, but when it came time to plan our friend Megan’s baby shower….we didn’t really know where to start.

Like any saavy #SceneGirl we prioritized a “to do” list, established a theme with the mom-to-be, and got adorable invitations sent out to her guest list before it was time to take a little break. All party planners need a break right? Right! Party planning is all about delegating and asking for help, and luckily we have the best girl friends in the bizz. Each one of our friends brought one homemade signature dish, which ended up being more than enough food for our 25 guests! WHEW!

It also helped that one of our BFF #SceneGirls, Jess, is the owner of TilleyCakes, because not only did she came through with a delicious appetizer, but she also created these adorable chocolate covered pretzels and rice krispies treats. She always comes through for us, we couldn’t be more grateful.

 That cake though….

What can we say about this amazing cake. Shea’s Bakery in Delray Beach really came through in creating this custom made piece of art for us. All we had to do was send her a picture of what we were looking for, and she replicated it exactly. This cake worked as a delicious dessert, and an even better centerpiece.

Where do you even begin when it comes to establishing decor for a navy and gold prince themed shower? As usual, Luxe Report Designs to the rescue. With a little help from their Pinterest and Instagram pages, we became inspired by their ability to implement a sequin table runner to any old table setting, and what a difference it made! Note to self: when it doubt, throw some sequin over it.

Speaking of decor, there’s nothing more important than a customized banner by JKreations. We told her the theme of the shower, the color scheme, and exactly what we wanted written on the banner and she created this beautiful photo prop, which now lives in baby Sebastian’s nursery!

To spark more inspiration, we headed to HomeGoods (of course) in search for clear candy bar jars and more gold decor. The next step was finding candy for the candy jars, which was easily found at Party City.

Sebastian’s newest onsie, baby hat, and bib made for great photo opportunities thanks to our dear friend and sorority sister, Nikki, founder of Namesbynikki. These are handmade quality products that can be customized to your liking. She’s one of our very good friends from Nashville and an obvious #LLSceneApproved vendor for our readers to trust.

Based on how her bridal shower went, we knew Megan’s feelings toward playing games at her baby shower, so we went in with a less is more attitude. It was more important for Megan to interact with her guests as they mixed and mingled with everyone else, so there were no “set games” to play. Thank goodness Megan wasn’t one of those “pregnant girls” who don’t allow champagne or wine to be served at baby shower’s because that made such a difference! Guests were encouraged to fill out these cards throughout the afternoon.

Glad to report back that LLScene’s first experience hosting a baby shower went off without a hitch. If you find yourself at a loss during shower preparations for your loved ones, just remember it’s all about prioritizing and knowing the needs of your mom-to-be.

Coincidentally, Megan and her husband Paul welcomed baby Sebastian into the world last Friday, January 8th! We couldn’t be happier for her and her new family! Here’s to the first #SceneBaby in the books!

It was an absolute honor to be amongst the most charitable women of Boca Raton last Friday, November, 6 at the Junior League of Boca Raton’s Woman Volunteer of the Year Luncheon at the Boca Raton Resort & Club. Upon entering the event, we were overcome with pictures and stories about each nominee. #SceneGirl Swim Week Recap

Your #SceneGirls are back and excited to recap Miami Swim Week! Despite listening to fellow bloggers “one up” each other while we all waited for shows to start, it was great weekend! If you ever want to hear how highly bloggers think of themselves, stick them all in a long sweaty line outside a fashion show.

Anyways, back to our sleepless weekend. On Friday night we attended Widlfox at one of our favorite hotels, The Delano.

Wildfox premiered their Cruise and Spring ‘16 swim collections with a statuesque-like presentation. One of the biggest highlights of the night had to be meeting Brody Jenner. If you haven’t already heard, Brody is Lindsey’s “hall pass”, so she was on the verge of a meltdown. He was a really nice guy and his hot girlfriend was super sweet.

Wildfox’s Spring ‘16 presentation featured mermaid, unicorn and fairy-printed fabrics as well as beautiful, flowers and pastels. Lots of mesh fabric, halters, fringe and zippers.

The favorite in this collection was the Floating UW Mermaid Top in pastel rainbow. The Cruise 2016 “Wildfox Girls of Beverly Hills” also had some serious standouts because of its pop colors and flight attendant look. More halters, florals and contrasting bottoms. Here are some of our favs!  Photo Credit: Mark Hunter

Saturday was spent at Escape Miami, where fashion & lifestyle brands came to showcase their products & talent. Our girls at Face2Face Studios manned the ‘braid bar’ while flash tats & brow shaping took place. Lindsey & #SceneGirl did some serious damage at the MIA Shoes bungalow with their Coty Booties paired with the Maaji swimsuit and at Bianca Coletti.

Saturday night began with us obsessing over Lindsey’s mint romper from & Lilly’s cobalt fringe heels from Steve Madden.

…and then Mara Hoffman happened at Casa Casurina (the Versace mansion). Casa Casurina was the quintessential backdrop to her newest collection.

Pushing the envelope with Moroccan inspired beauty. Hoffman brought her Moroccan understanding alive through the sites and smells she experienced in Morocco. This collection is infused with new color palettes, silhouettes, and floral prints. It was boho chic to the highest degree, and couldn’t get enough of it. Adding versatility, Hoffman added more reversible options with different necklines. Love, love, love. Photo Credit: BFA

From Mara Hoffman to the Maxim launch party. Maxim debuted their swimwear line at SLS South Beach Saturday night. We spent the night with founder of Miss Fanatic, Tiffany Pearl. Tiffany and Lilly have been best friend since their dolphin days, so it was fun to have her show us the ropes of Swim Week.

Give us some women empowerment, and we’re there. The collection was inspired by legendary fashion icon, Brigitte Bardot by featuring two themes, “Boho” and “Girl Next Door,” the collection paid homage to key moments in history led by exceptional women. This world wide debut featured lots of fringe, crochet lace earth tone embellishments. With the All- American “Girl Next Door” expressed a suited look with sleek solids, and seersucker, paired with sophisticated color palettes. Photo Credit: Getty Images

Saturday night ended up being a late one, so we were a little slow to rise Sunday morning. We were so lucky to have stayed at The Thompson Hotel, Miami Beach, which was centrally located around all of the shows we attended, but more importantly because they 24/7 room service. That was probably the best news we received all weekend. The Thompson brought a little Palm Beach to Miami with their cabana style theme, so we felt right at home all weekend. We started our Sunday morning with a little rest and relaxation by their beautiful pool before we had to put our game faces back on.

We spent the day back at SLS with the Style Saves Sunday Soiree, another great pop up shop event where we spent way too much money. Adorable statement jewelry, handmade bikinis, and mobile boutiques. Can you really ask for anything more?! Some of our favs.

Love & Pieces

The rest of our #SceneGirl Sunday was spent photo shooting and drinking margaritas by the pool at Hyde Beach. Couldn’t be happier about the outcome of our weekend in Miami. We witnessed great fashion, networked with wonderful people, and had a little fun doing it.
