Holiday Style Look Book

With the holidays officially amongst us, we know how stressful it can be to dress for all of the different events taking over your holiday social calendar. In preparation for tonight’s FROST event with Boca Mag, we thought we’d share our exclusive LLScene “Holiday Style Look Book”, which should get you through any occasion this season. Enjoy!

 Sweater Weather

Sweater weather is in full effect, and there are plenty of ways to implement this look into your everyday personal style. There’s nothing you can’t pair with a sweater dress. It’s a simple look like that can be dressed up or down, with the right accessories and shoes. Faux fur is making a comeback this season, but we’re seeing it more and more as an infinity statement piece than anything else. It’s an added plus that this trend will also keep you warm and stylish at the same time. Coming from a favored fall look, ponchos are an essential piece you will want to keep in your closet as the bitter winter months come upon us.  Social lives take over during the holiday season, so it’s important to remain stylish and comfortable. Oversized sweaters paired with high waisted palazzo pants is the perfect transition outfit for the corporate fashionista on the go.

Party Host

It’s not easy being the party host, but somebody has to do it, and it’s important that it is done with style and grace. Open yourself up for the perfect combination of sexy and sweet with a solid backless dress, that can be easily be paired with existing items in your closet. Embellished pieces are always a holiday party favorite, but it’s important that these looks are paired tastefully with a solid blouse or blazer. Young “20-30 something” party hosts may want to venture toward something a little more risque, and there is nothing wrong with that. A plunging neckline complemented with a high waisted abstract bottom will make you the talk of the party season.

Bring on the glitz and glamour! There wouldn’t be a holiday social season without a formal party in the works. Dress codes are something to pay close attention to. What exactly does that mean? With a black tie events, you would rather be overdressed than anything at all. Black tie and black tie optional dress codes mean that you should wear a long dress no matter what. Don’t even think twice about it. If an invitation calls for a cocktail dress, an elegant midi dress, or dress over the knee will suffice. That being said, don’t feel the need to wear a black dress to a black tie gala. You will find that most women will opt for the black ball gown, only because it’s slimming. Stand out in a staple burgundy or forest green paired with your favorite coat of the season.

Office parties can be a tough look to fashionably pull off. A lot companies plan their office parties right after work, so you’ll need something that can easily transition from day to night. A vest “that goes with anything” is a great piece to always have on hand during the holiday season because it can easily be thrown over a casual look to dress it up. The little black dress is an appropriate statementpiece for an out of office holiday party. You can’t go wrong with a jumpsuit and blazer. It’s sharp, fashion forward and comfortable. There’s nothing wrong with venturing outside your comfort zone with chic two piece skirt and short sets. This is an ongoing trend we are seeing in and out of the office.

Dinner Party

Holiday dinner parties give the opportunity of creativity and fashion forward thinking. Whether you’re a host or a guest, you can get away with with some great casual chic looks. A sequin statement can be difficult to achieve without an oversized staple in your closet. Sheer button ups paired with lace bralets will clinch the integrity of this dinner party outfit. Nothing screams effortless ‘fashion week street style’ like a faux fur vest paired with leather leggings, and booties. The ‘cape trend’ took over the fashion scene during the 2014 award season, and luckily hasn’t left. This fancy dinner party piece will bring out your fashion expertise, while giving off a little sexiness. Leopard can be a scary commitment to take on. There is always a fear you will resemble a New Jersey reality television star, but there doesn’t have to be. You will want to go into this leopard concept with a ‘less is more attitude’; think complimentary solid colors and tights.
